Valentine's Day Drop
This Valentine’s Day drop is really exciting to me for two reasons. One, this is the most varied drop that I have done. It encompasses four major skills that I have learned in the last year and it is using my own photographs for the first time. Two, I am slowly coming to love Valentine’s Day. I don’t know if it is because my daughter’s birthday is days before it or if I really enjoy showing love to my children but it is becoming one of my favorites. I know that there is a lot of consumerism associated with the holiday and I do try to show my love to my family on a daily basis.
In this drop, I have stickers that I have made. Three sets! One is Valentine's Day ghosts, which I think are freaking adorable. One is a set of conversation hearts that not only have the typical sayings but also include a version of my most popular sticker, Chaos Coordinator. The third set is in collaboration with another small business owner. She is a crocheter and came up with the idea for the sayings of the stickers. I am so honored and excited to have worked with her. She has been a supporter of mine since the beginning and I love her work!
I have more door corner decorations that I designed. I love all of them and I can’t wait to add them to my shop. These again are showing love. I can see people keeping them up all year long. They don’t shout Valentine’s Day, they shout Love. I also feel that my designing skills for these have gotten better. Yes there were a couple of decapitated gnomes but I was able to identify the problem and fix it so they kept their heads.
I have added buttons. I have always loved buttons. I can always tell my backpack from my husbands’ because of the buttons that I have on them. I think they are a neat way to add flair to your life. When my dad wanted to order buttons in November and I told him I didn’t have a button maker, I started looking into button makers. The idea just would not leave my head. And these sets are so much fun! I have valentines day ones, big ones and small ones, and some magnets as well. But the biggest deal to me is that I am adding my very own photographs to them. In a previous life, I was a photographer and I was lucky enough to travel to many cool places. Plus I live in Colorado so there are some pretty cool places in my own backyard. I have never had the courage to put my photographs out there. I have entered a couple of small competitions but never anything where people could buy them. So I am both excited and nervous to put them out there for people to see.
The final new product that I am adding is a faux leather photo album keychain. I absolutely love photos. I still have stacks of printed photos around. I think having a small place to share our photos that are not on our phone is amazing. People love to hold photographs and this is a cute way to do that. I have never really worked with faux leather before but this was a product that spoke to my heart.
This drop, while my biggest yet, holds a close place to my heart. I love each and every sticker, decoration and picture. I have made each one with love and care. And I hope that if you purchase one of these products, that you feel the love that went into making it for you.
